The Design Skillnet Essential Coaching Skills for Creatives 2024 is a dynamic program tailored to empower designers and creatives with the essential coaching techniques necessary to elevate team performance and achieve outstanding results.

Through two half-days of immersive sessions (10 am to 1 pm) and a bonus 90-minute Action Learning Set (3 pm to 4:30 pm), participants will develop practical and useful coaching skills that you can apply immediately in the normal flow of work to manage creatives and designers through the day-to-day.

These skills can also be applied to clients! Asking powerful questions can help them to better express their needs and vision and ultimately give clearer design briefs.

Who Should Attend

People Managers who manage designers or creatives, whether you are a first-time or an experienced people manager.

Participants should currently have direct reports, i.e. people reporting to them, to get the most from this programme.

Programme Objectives and What You Will Take Away

By the end of this one-day workshop participants will:

  • Be able to describe the value and use of a coaching style with their teams, with colleagues, peers and even clients!
  • Be able to identify where coaching can be used to improve performance in their teams.
  • Be able to use practical coaching skills in a variety of situations including feedback sessions, development conversations, team and individual meetings, client meetings and in any situation where they are aiming to increase performance and results.

What you will Experience

The comprehensive content covers coaching fundamentals, distinguishing coaching from other approaches, and the strategic use of coaching in various professional scenarios. Practical skills include employing a 6-step coaching model, using powerful questions, developing action plans, and fostering the coaching relationship. The program concludes by offering resources for advancing coaching skills, encouraging further reading, and providing tools like coaching action plans, action learning sets, reflective practice, and learning journals to enhance your coaching proficiency.

By the end of the program, you will gain the ability to describe the value and application of a coaching style with your teams, colleagues, peers, and clients.
